Teaching Guides for SOGL's Freelance Instructors

Randall's ESL Cyber Listening Lab -- For ESL/EFL Students is a great site for students who are interested in improving conversational English. This site divides learning materials into three levels: Easy, Medium and Diffcult. Many topics are available for you and/or students to choose from each level. Help your students to complete the following steps:

Step 1: Assess and determine your student's listening/speaking level;
Step 2: Go over the topic chosen by your student or assigned by you from last week;
Step 3: Make sure that your student have completed (I) pre-listening exercises, and (II) listening exercises. If not, give your student a brief overview of these two exercises (5 to 10 minutes)
Step 4: Guide your student in completing (III) vocabulary activites (15 minutes), and (IV) post-listening exercises (30 minutes); and
Step 5: Ask your students to fill out a survey (5 minutes)

If you need more teaching tips of using the learning materials, you can read "Tips for Teachers" from the site owner Randall. Please feel free to provide feedback to us on the teaching guide. We will continue to improve the teaching guide to ease your teaching process.
